Board elections will be coming up in May and many members of the current board are leaving.  Please start to think about and les us know whether this might be something you might like to
      do, or whether there is someone whom you would like to
      nominate as a candidate for election to the next board.
      Current board members will provide detailed descriptions of
      their duties so that you are able to make well-considered
      decisions.  In light of the fact that so many board members
      are leaving at once, it is particularly important that certain
      functions such as the treasury, the charities division and
      the maintenance of the website undergo a smooth
      transition.

NEW ROAD SAFETY RULES
Under new road safety rules, taking effect on December 8, 2009; all vehicles on Mozambican roads must carry a fluorescent jacket, for the
     driver to use in the event of an emergency. The use of the
     fluorescent jacket will be compulsory for anyone repairing,
     loading or unloading a vehicle on the public highway, or in
     the event of a traffic accident. Vehicles must also carry
     reflective red triangles. Each side of the triangle should be
     50 centimetres long, and the triangle should be visible at a
     distance of 100 metres. The penalty is a fine ranging from
     500 meticais (18 US dollars) for lack of a triangle or of the
     reflective markers, to 1,000 meticais for any motorist
     caught without the fluorescent jacket. (AIM NEWS)
