Want to celebrate Caroline's 50th birthday with her? Join her or sponsor her for the swim on the 9th December.

This sponsored swim will be held at 7 am until 9 am at the Maritimo club pool. You are welcome to swim for part of the time. She needs more people to count lengths. Afterwards she will go to visit Imagine (the charity of her choice) and will meet anyone who would like to join her at the Catembe Ferry at 10am. She plans to come back in time for a salad lunch at Zambi restaurant. Anyone likes to join her? So far she has sponsors ranging between £5.00 per lap and about 300 mets total. She hopes to get more sponsors, and she will match any amount that she is sponsored ie she will give the same amount to the charity, Imagine, in Catembe. Contact her at 829837090 for further details!

THANK YOU to the ICM members!!

The Sisters of  the Obra Missionaria de Jesus y Maria (one of the four ICM selected charities) would like to thank the ICM members for the generous donation of a new computer equipped with Windows Vista, antivirus system, a flat screen monitor and a color printer, etc. It's a very meaningful Christmas gift for the girls in this boarding school !! They are also looking for technically minded volunteers to teach the girls computer skills.  If you can help, please contact Jenny at 825865484.

Q: What are the capacity of my computer's memory (RAM) and hard disk drive (HDD), or what is the version of operation system that I use, how do I check them on my computer? What is RAM? What is HDD?

A: RAM (Random Access Memory) controls the speed and memory in your computer. HDD is a storage device, and is the workhorse component of every computer. It provides long-term storage for data on your computer.

One way to check on these information is to "Right" click on "My Computer" icon, then select Properties. You will see (1) the detailed system information, (2) your computer ID, and(3) your processor (CPU) and memory capacity. In addition, for the information on the HDD, "Left" click on My Computer icon to open the window, single click on the Local Disk (C:), you will see the size of the hard drive at the bottom of the blue bar on the left of the window. If you do not see it, then Right click on the Local Disk (C:), then select Properties, you can also see how big the hard drive is under Total Size in GB and how much of that space is unused (free space).

Photos of Mad Hatter's event available upon request.

Did you enjoy this event? If you want to see the beautiful photos taken by Klara, Sabine and Celine, please either see the Activities page of the ICM website (see below) or ask Jessica for a copy of the cd set with music.

Stress Reducing Tip

It Seems Incredible That You Can Reduce Stress In Less Than five Minutes...........

You know those times when situations in your life stress you out, or when circumstances make your life feel unmanageable? Here is a time-tested strategy for reducing stress quickly, easily and without drugs or supplements.

On your forehead, above the eyes and just below the hairline there are points called Neuro-Vascular points. Simply holding these points with your fingers will re-program your nervous system to stop firing a crisis response to life’s ordinary daily stresses. By doing this regularly you will be more able to think clearly and cope effectively, even when life gets stressful!

Simply lay your fingers gently onto your forehead at the Frontal Eminences – the bumps on your forehead that are right above your eyes. It helps if you can lean forward and rest your elbows on a table or desk while doing this. Hold your fingers there, focus on the source of your stress, and breathe deeply and slowly for about three – to – five minutes. That’s it!

Dear Ladies, would you like to share your ideas, news or tips with others ? Please don't hesitate to contact Celesta or Jessica, they will post them on the ICM website (www.icmmaputo.org) or the newsletter.
